Job Description
Summary
We are seeking a dependable self-motivated Terminal Service Technician to join our team at Q-Line Trucking. This role is ideal for a jack-of-all-trades professional who takes initiative identifies what needs to be done and gets it done without being told. The successful candidate will be responsible for a wide range of support functions including asset tracking light equipment maintenance facility upkeep and operating heavy yard equipment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Asset Management:
- Track and monitor trailers yard equipment and support assets.
- Maintain accurate logs and ensure assets are properly positioned and documented.
- Facility & Equipment Maintenance:
- Perform basic facility repairs (e.g. fixing a plugged toilet replacing light bulbs).
- Conduct minor maintenance on small equipment such as lawn mowers hand tools etc.
- Identify maintenance issues and take initiative to address or report them promptly.
- Heavy Equipment Operation:
- Operate large snow removal and yard maintenance equipment including front-end loaders and graders.
- Clear snow move materials and maintain a safe and organized yard environment.
- General Support:
- Assist terminal staff with ad hoc tasks to ensure smooth terminal operations.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the yard and facilities.
- Respond to urgent maintenance or support needs as they arise.
Qualifications:
- Proven ability to work independently and take initiative.
- Prior experience in a support maintenance or logistics yard environment preferred.
- Ability to operate heavy equipment such as loaders and graders (certification or verifiable experience ).
- Basic mechanical skills for small equipment and facility repairs.
- Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
- Physical ability to perform manual labor in varying weather conditions.
- Valid drivers license (1A a plus but not ).
Work Environment:
- Outdoor yard and indoor facility environments; exposure to varying weather.
- Hands-on physical tasks combined with light administrative tracking duties.
