Job Description
Job Title: AV Handyman/Installer
Key Responsibilities:
Unistrut Assembly
- Install and assemble Unistrut systems for mounting AV equipment
- Ensure all components are securely and accurately installed
- Modify assemblies as needed to meet specific project requirements
Electrical Work
- Install and maintain electrical wiring and components related to AV systems
- Move and install electrical outlets as needed
- Safely work around other trades and live circuits
- Run 120/240V wiring through buildings; bend and install EMT PVC and flexible conduit
- Perform troubleshooting and repairs on electrical systems
- Ensure all electrical work complies with applicable codes and safety standards
- Maintain a clean and organized job site
Structural Work
- Perform structural modifications and hardware installations to support AV equipment
- Install seismic support wiring and overhead hardware above ceilings
- Drill into concrete and walls to mount hardware capable of supporting heavy equipment (up to several hundred pounds)
- Ensure all structural work meets safety and engineering requirements
IT & AV Integration
- Run terminate and test low-voltage copper cabling including CAT5/CAT6 and C7
- Understand signal flow and interpret IT and AV schematics
- Install and support audio/video systems including displays projectors speakers and control equipment
Qualifications
- Proven experience in unistrut assembly electrical work and structural tasks.
- Experience in the AV or IT industry
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong communication skills.
- Valid drivers license and reliable transportation
- Experience in the AV or IT industry.
- Familiarity with a wide range of tools and equipment used in AV installations.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
- Comfortable working at heights and in various weather conditions.
- Ability to stand walk and perform physical labor for extended periods.
