Job Description

Maintenance Manager - Southport NC

Summary:
The Maintenance Manager will take responsibility for all maintenance activities on the plant site provide technical support for the maintenance team and develop and implement continuous improvement opportunities for equipment and practices. The Maintenance Manager will work closely with plant staff and mechanics to provide good customer service. This position will train & supervise maintenance staff and key personnel to ensure that the facility has a safe and reliable maintenance program at the lowest cost.

Specific Job Duties:
  • Champion the plants predictive maintenance efforts to include vibration analysis IR monitoring and oil analysis.
  • Analysis of work order history to identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Develops preventive maintenance requirements for new and existing equipment.
  • Develops work practices and procedures and communicates them to mechanics.
  • Ensures proper parts are available in the stock room and works with stock room personnel to ensure additions/deletions are made on a timely basis.
  • Performs root cause analysis of failures.
  • Applies value analysis to repair/replace repair/redesign and make/buy decisions.
  • Evaluates equipment history and predictive maintenance data to assist in the anticipation of plant maintenance needs and prioritization of work.
  • Possess a hands-on attitude and be willing to assist anyone in Maintenance or Production with repairs as needed.
  • Supervise Maintenance Supervisors Planners Mechanics and Electricians.
Preferred Skills:
  • Formal training in mechanical and/or electrical discipline and a minimum of 5 years of maintenance leadership experience.
  • Strong leadership management and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated extremely strong commitment and leadership in plant Safety Environment and Quality programs.
  • Interpersonal skills employed include; handling conflict motivating instructing
    and training personnel in a fair honest and direct way.
  • CMMS program (Maximo) experience to manage planning scheduling and inventory control.
Environment:
  • Primarily Monday Friday but available for operations outside of standard working hours.
  • Must be able to climb stairs ladders some lifting(50 lbs) sit or stand for long periods work at heights bending kneeling and be able to be respirator qualified.
  • Must be able to work in all environmental conditions including temperature extremes and a dusty environment
  • Carry ladders and tools
  • Walk long distances
  • Mild and strong Acids (Citric Phosphoric Sulfuric) and Caustics (Sodium and Potassium Hydroxide Calcium Hypochlorite (HTH)

Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors including market location job-related knowledge skills and experience. Hourly and salaried non-exempt employees will also be paid overtime pay when working qualifying overtime hours.

If hired employees will be in an at-will position and the Company reserves the right to modify base pay (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time including for reasons related to individual performance Company or individual department/team performance and market factors.
