Minimum Qualifications:
The formal education equivalent of a high school diploma
At least five years experience in central utility plant operations and maintenance
Completion of required education or training along with the required license or certification in the following skilled trades: Electrician HVAC Plumbing Plant Operations
At least 10 years of experience in related trade
At least one year in a leadership capacity
Valid Drivers License
Boiler Operator License
Preferred Qualifications:
At least four years of supervisory experience
Power Plant Operator Certification
Experience with Natural Gas Pipeline
Experience with FAMIS (departmental software)
Experience using OverNight software
Experience with Emerson Process Management valve and systems
Experience with turbine operations
Knowledge Skills & Abilities:
Knowledge of the principles practices methods and safety precautions inplant operations
Knowledge of the laws regulations and codes relating toplant operations
Knowledge of management and supervisory principles and techniques
Knowledge of the state budgetary process
Ability to read and interpret blueprints manuals schematics building plans and/or work drawings
Manage procurement process materials ordering and inventory management
Ability to supervise skilled trades workers and/or supervisors
Ability to plan and coordinate all phases of service repairs installation and/or construction projects in one or more of the skilled trades
Basic use and understanding of Microsoft Office products and CMMS systems for Work order management
