Manufacturing Engineering Manager: Harrison OH (JOB ID: 1233).

Position Summary and Purpose: Plan direct staff and control the Manufacturing Engineering Department. Coordinate its activities to support operations to insure adherence to shared goals and objectives.
Duties and Responsibilities:
ESSENTIAL:
- Develop and manage Manufacturing Engineering objectives policies and procedures for effective operation of the department.
- Develop and maintain proper staffing that meets defined performance standards to support operations and customer demand.
- Promote effective employee relations by providing leadership coaching and development training to CNC programming staff.
- Develop forward looking plans for capital spending. Prepare justification proposals document specifications develop performance requirements and oversee project planning and execution.
- Interface with Product Engineering to manage the introduction of new products and maintain form fit and functionality of existing products.
- Oversee the development and implementation of manufacturing processes to maintain part integrity and cost efficiency.
- Manage the development of new tooling methods building innovative tools and revamping existing tooling to reduce production costs.
- Establishes and maintains an environment conducive to continuous improvement in manufacturing. Lead continuous improvement activities within the engineering group and provide support for manufacturing teams continuous improvement activities.
- Maintain compliance to the company safety policies and procedures
- Responsible for directing the work of other team members
Education and Experience:
REQUIRED:
- Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering or related field required
- MBA in a technical or business field preferred
- Minimum of 7 years heavy industrial fabrication experience in a Manufacturing field
- Minimum of 5 year experience in Engineering leadership role
Knowledge Skills Abilities Characteristics etc.
REQUIRED:
- Experience in facilitating Continuous Improvement activities
- Experience with MS Office suite MasterCam AutoCad and ERP functionality
- Industry relevant production/process experience
- Knowledge and experience in organizational effectiveness and engineering management
- Highly motivated very detailed and service oriented with a proven track record
- Knowledge of project management principles and practices
- Strong communicator with positive attitude
- Good critical thinking and problem solving skills
- CNC Machining and Programming experience
- Strong Blueprint reading
- Strong understanding of quality and inspection systems including GD&T and its application
- Strong machining background and knowledge in a high variety low quantity production environment
