Job Summary:

Reviews and performs daily Card Club accounting functions reconciling recording calculating and summarizing numbers; and Reviewing documents for proper completion. Responsible for supporting the Companies mission vision and values by providing fun and games like no place else and adheres to the Canterbury Way by focusing on our core values.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Lead by example.
  • Responsible for maintaining a high degree of hospitality as well as a positive and professional demeanor at all times.
  • Creates high levels of morale fosters teamwork inspires collaboration and provides suggestions for growth to management.
  • Perform revenue recognition and ensure accuracy and compliance with GAAP MRC regulations and internal procedures.
  • Prepare and post journal entries.
  • Prepare and maintain revenue related reports and schedules.
  • Reconcile general ledger accounts and investigate discrepancies.
  • Review 1099s and W2Gs and ensure entry in system.
  • Monthly voucher redemption and F&B coupon reporting.
  • Assist in external audit as needed.
  • Assist with Sarbanes-Oxley project.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

  • Must be able to pass Canterbury Parks pre-employment screening which includes a criminal background check and verification of work history.
  • Must be able to obtain a Minnesota Racing Commission (MRC) license.
  • Two Year Accounting Degree or equivalent work experience required.
  • Proficiency with PC applications ie. Microsoft Excel and Word required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Great Plains accounting software knowledge preferred.
  • Finance/accounting experience in the gaming industry is preferred.

  • Must be able to sit for long periods of time and view information displayed on a computer screen.
  • Must be able to bend reach kneel twist and grip items while working at an assigned desk area.
  • Must be able to move and lift boxes up to 20 pounds.
