Job Description

Position Overview:
The Natural Resources Coordinator supports the management and utilization of land timber and mineral resources to align with KaMins business strategy. This role involves applying knowledge of natural resource principles and forestry management practices to aid in the acquisition management and development of both existing and new natural resources. The coordinator ensures positive relationships with landowners communities and governmental entities while supporting the development of departmental procedures and roles.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in implementing short- to long-term strategies for land timber and natural resource management in accordance with KaMins environmental principles.
  • Analyze leases options and other land contracts to maximize revenue and profitability from land timber and mineral reserves.
  • Assess the real estate value of non-value-adding land and timber harvest and silvicultural agreements.
  • Ensure contractual responsibilities are met including accurate and timely royalty payments by facilitating activities of direct reports to monitor and maintain the contract management database.
  • Administer property tax payments associated with land management activities.
  • Participate in quality safety environmental and other human resource programs as required for the safe efficient and quality-oriented performance of assigned duties.
  • Actively pursue Continuous Improvement (CI) opportunities and training; assist with other CI projects.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in Forestry Biology Geology Environmental Sciences or other Earth Sciences.
  • Entry-level experience in land timber and/or mineral procurement and land management.
  • Strong verbal communication negotiation and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to write and construct clear unambiguous letters and legal documents.
  • Capability to prioritize and manage multiple often conflicting objectives projects or activities.
  • Desire to pursue professional development including obtaining a professional geologist license registered forester license Georgia real estate license or continuing education.

Working Conditions:

  • 60% office setting and 40% fieldwork in mining or forestry environments.
  • Ability to navigate rough terrain (on foot and in a vehicle) walk long distances and maintain environmental awareness.
  • Occasional to frequent travel to other plant sites or properties along the Georgia Fall Line area.
