JOB DESCRIPTION

    • As the sole Legal Counsel for the Italian market reporting directly to the General Counsel International you will play a pivotal role in shaping Veepees business strategies in this region. You will deliver proactive comprehensive legal and business-focused advice implementing initiatives to uphold standards of integrity quality ethical behavior and responsibility across our e-commerce platform.

TASKS

    • Key Responsibilities:
    • Lead and manage all legal aspects of Veepees operations in Italy.
      Identify and assess legal risks associated with business transactions keeping senior management and the Italian Country Manager informed of legal developments.
      Provide legal advice on all areas of law (except tax and labor) that affect the business including:
    • Commercial Contracts: Handling agreements with customers suppliers logistics distribution and collaborations.
    • Consumer Advertising and Digitial Law.
    • Competition and Distribution Law.
    • Regulatory Compliance.
    • Drafting legal documents and communications.
    • Address claims and ongoing legal procedures.
    • IP/IT and e-commerce issues.
    • OBJECTIVES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
    • Legal Risk Assessment: Continuously evaluate business activities to identify potential legal risks and implications and develop strategies to mitigate these risks effectively.
    • Contractual Management: Oversee the drafting reviewing and negotiation of a wide range of commercial contracts ensuring terms reflect strategic objectives and comply with legal standards.
    • Regulatory Compliance: Monitor changes in laws and regulations relevant to e-commerce and technology sectors advising on adaptations needed for compliance within all facets of operations.
    • Dispute Resolution: Manage and resolve disputes involving the company providing strategic advice and solutions that align with business interests and legal compliance.
    • Training and Development: Lead initiatives to educate and train staff on relevant legal developments policies and best practices fostering a culture of compliance and awareness.
    • Legal Documentation: Ensure all legal documents including contracts memoranda and communications are accurately and appropriately drafted to protect company interests.
    • Litigation Management: Represent the company in legal proceedings or coordinate with external legal firms when necessary to effectively manage legal disputes and litigation.
    • Corporate housekeeping: Take care of corporate housekeeping of Italian entities.
    • Business Partnership: Serve as a business partner and trusted advisor facilitating the companys goals through sound legal guidance.

MUST HAVE skills

    • Masters degree in Law from a recognized Italian University with a focus/specialization in consumer and/or commercial law.
    • Minimum of 7 years of experience in a reputable law firm and/or a dynamic corporate legal department ideally in e-commerce retail or FMCG sectors.
    • Proven track record in negotiating and finalizing contracts to support sales teams.
    • Fluent in Italian and English with working knowledge of French and/or Spanish preferred.
    • Ability to translate legal jargon into clear and actionable insights for non-legal colleagues. Exceptional drafting skills to produce precise and conclusive legal documents.
    • The candidate should have a strong grasp of business operations and the associated risks and be a problem-solver with a solid capacity to balance regulatory requirements with business objectives.
