Job Description:

TheMars Wrigley North America Assistant Controlleris a critical role within our North American Controllership team responsible for ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial statements. This position supports timely financial close processes implements new accounting standards and collaborates with both internal and external audit teams to drive continuous improvement and operational efficiency. The role requires a deep understanding of accounting under U.S. GAAP expertise in technical accounting and experience in the Consumer Product Goods (CPG) industry.

What are we looking for

  • University degree in Accounting or Finance (Required)
  • Graduate level degree (Preferred)
  • CPA or other professional certification (Preferred)
  • Must have at least 8 years of experience in a corporate environment and/or public accounting Product Goods industry experience is highly preferred.
  • Accounting under U.S. GAAP
  • SAP Experience or Equivalent ERP system (Preferred)
  • Experience leading teams talent development and succession planning
  • Expertise in technical accounting financial process and internal controls
  • Scale and complexity in CPG industry
  • Deep understanding of accounting under U.S. GAAP and Internal Controls
  • Expertise in technical accounting with experience in the Consumer Product Goods (CPG) industry
  • Proven track record of ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial statements with prior experience in business performance reviews and financial close processes and working with shared service centers
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to deliver challenging feedback and drive change
  • Experience in implementing new accounting standards and ensuring compliance with Finance Manual guidelines
  • Leadership experience in guiding and mentoring accounting and reporting associates

What will be your key responsibilities

  • Technical Accounting: Provide expertise and guidance on technical accounting issues ensuring compliance with U.S. GAAP and company policies. You will oversee the review and determination of appropriate accounting treatment for new contractual agreements leases and business arrangements and perform initial review over technical accounting consultations
  • Financial Close Processes: Ensure timely delivery and accuracy of period close financials and submissions supporting period quarter and year-end activities
  • Internal Controls and Process Improvement: Develop and maintain robust internal controls. You will also need to provide valuable insights to improve financial processes driving efficiency and effectiveness
  • Audit Collaboration: Work with external and internal audit teams to ensure an efficient and effective audit process

The base pay range for this position at commencement of employment is expected to be between the range listed below however base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors including but not limited to market location job-related knowledge skills and total compensation package for this position mayalso include other elements if eligible including variable pay medical and dental benefits participation in 401k plan and paid time off benefits. Eligibility for these additional elements depend on the position offeredand the employees work schedule (i.e. part-time schedule store associate). Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an applicant receives an offer of employment.
