As The CORE Institute continues to grow we are looking for a Surgery Scheduling see below for the functions and requirements for this position.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Oversees all scheduling needs for surgical cases.
- Registers and schedules surgeries uploads patient demographics and medical records into the facilitys EHR.
- Reviews surgical line-ups and coordinates appropriate usage of ORs.
- Communicates with facility schedulers and leadership to optimize OR utilization.
- Communicates with leadership and team to assist in obtaining OR time for surgical cases on an as-needed basis.
- Assists with any system updates due to schedule changes or additions.
- Assists Leadership to ensure the department goals are being met specifically to block utilization facility selection optimization first contact times etc.
- Conducts weekly surgical case reconciliation with facility schedulers and leadership.
- Assists with researching and resolving scheduling discrepancies in a timely manner.
- Assists Leadership with facility-based audits and daily department reporting.
- Other duties as assigned by Senior Management.
EDUCATION
- High school diploma/GED or equivalent working knowledge preferred.
EXPERIENCE
- A minimum of two years of experience in the healthcare field is required.
- Previous surgery scheduling experience is preferred.
- Excellent organizational skills and strong customer service orientation are required with a strong background in computers and data entry.
REQUIREMENTS
- Must be able to communicate effectively with physicians patients and the public.
- Capable of establishing good working relationships with both internal and external customers.
KNOWLEDGE
- Knowledge of medical and surgical terminology.
- Knowledge of computer programs and applications.
- Hospital surgery scheduling experience is desirable.
SKILLS
- Skill in customer service and an understanding of The CORE code of conduct and culture.
- Skill in communicating effectively with physicians clinical staff and the public.
- Skill in establishing good working relationships with both internal and external customers.
ABILITIES
- Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
- Ability to establish professional working relationships with providers staff and the public.
- Ability to scan materials into the correct patient chart.
