RESPONSIBILITIES:
This position is accountable forretention engagement training coaching and mentoring plant professionals andnew is a developmental position that will prepare the incumbent for future opportunities in Human Resources roles.
- Responsible for theoverall process for hiring office hourly and plant hourly production team members including recruiting interviewing placement onboarding and orientation.
- Maintains positive Company-employee labor relationswhile providing efficient fair and equitable use of plant and safety work rules.
- Determines and prioritizes training needs for the facility.
- Provides leadership for employee engagement initiatives while championing inclusion and diversity.
- Provides leadership and development to HRadmins HR technicians and other HR office staff.
- Oversees activities associated with employees during the introductory period for purposes of retention includingorientation evaluations coaching and termination when appropriate.
- Ensures compliance with government regulations company policy procedures and employment eligibility.
- Assumes the responsibilities of the Human Resource Manager when absent.
- Handles the effective administration of safety and security programs policies and procedures under the direction of the HR manager
QUALIFICATIONS:
Required
- Bachelors degree or equivalent industry experience.
- Demonstrated skills in the area of employee relations.
- Strong pattern of initiativeachievementand leadership.
- Proven problem solving decision making persuasive and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent organizational skills with proven ability to prioritize.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Must be a Citizen or National of the United States a lawful permanent resident or have authorization to work in the United States.
- Applicants must not now or in the future require sponsorship for an employment visa.
Preferred
- Bilingual Skills.
- Experience in a manufacturing/processing environment.
- Experience working in a union environment.
LOCATION:Hayward CA
A comprehensive relocation package to the Hayward CA area will be offered if required.
At Hormel Foods base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. The base hiring pay range for the HR Generalist - Bayfront - Columbus role is between $63075 - $113100 per year and your actual base pay within that range will depend upon a variety of factors including but not limited to job-related knowledge skill set level of experience and geographic market location.
