The Hardware Engineering directorate leads in the mechanical hardware design development and production of weapons systems. We use state-of-the-art tools processes and technology with capabilities encompassing a broad range of technical disciplines including product engineering manufacturing technical services materials engineering analysis and test rapid hardware development/builds and configuration and data management documentation.
This role is for a Lab Lead to support Tewksbury MA and Andover MA Hardware Engineering labs. In this role you will manage and implement engineering lab strategic projects and day-to-day administrative functions within multiple engineering labs with specific focus on safety security and compliance using established doctrine and governance.
You will be creative and innovative possessing strong organizational coordination planning analytical and problem-solving skills. In this position you must be able to collaborate with customers employees and senior leaders when implementing process and procedural changes.
This position is an onsite role in Tewksbury MA with travel to Andover MA. The position will be covering multiple labs in these two locations. Travel between the sites is expected throughout the course of the week.
This role is located on-site in Tewksbury MA.
What You Will Do
Lab Operating Procedure (LOP) Management; provide direction for lab users on established policies
Management coordination and implementation of Environmental Health Safety and Sustainment
Property & Metrology Management including maintenance of equipment service contracts and ongoing equipment repairs
Perform cost analysis ensure task completion within approved budgets
Provide process support to Supply Chain Management (SCM)
Oversee audit/assessment preparation. Overseeing Engineering Lab Objective Evaluation and Voluntary Protection Program; develop corrective action plans and assist in the development of long-range objectives including engineering customer goals
Safeguarding of classified/proprietary material hardware and documentation utilizing defense material/property under Export Administration Regulations
Develop and implement communication plans providing consulting support to functional and engineering customer management
Work to influence stakeholders within and outside responsibilities at an operational level regarding policies practices and procedures
Work autonomously with limited oversight; provide professional input guidance and problem solving
This position requires some physical exertion while standing sitting or walking working outside
Local travel in the general area is required with occasional travel outside the local area
What You Will Learn
Time management skills resulting from broad administrative management responsibilitieS
Qualifications You Must Have
Typically requires a Bachelors degree or equivalent experience and a minimum of 5 years prior relevant professional experience or An Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years equivalent professional experience
Experience in an engineering lab environment area such as safety security compliance and/or property management
The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance
Qualifications We Prefer
Strong mechanical and/or electrical/electronic skills
Experience with OSHA/NFPA industrial policies and regulations
Experience with working directly with engineers technicians and leadership in an engineering lab environment in the areas of safety security compliance and property management
Experience with EHS NISPOM JAFAN and Foreign Object Elimination
Experience with Microsoft Office tools (Excel PowerPoint Word)

This position requires security clearance. DCSA Consolidated Adjudication Services (DCSA CAS) an agency of the Department of Defense handles and adjudicates the security clearance process. More information about Security Clearances can be found on the US Department of State government website here: salary range for this role is 82000 USD - 164000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
