What you will do:

As a Risk specialist at EDP Renewables you will be responsible for

General responsibilities:

1. Market Risk Metrics Monitoring & Limit Tracking

Monitor and analyse key market risk indicators (e.g. Var stress testing sensitivities exposure to price/volume/shape) across diverse asset types including renewable generation and BESS.

Detect trends variances or breaches in risk metrics and contribute to identifying potential actions.

Help maintain and enhance internal tools and processes to support ongoing risk oversight.

2. Exposure Analysis

Analyse market risk exposures including price volume and shape risks for renewable conventional and storage portfolios (e.g. BESS).

Contribute to assessments of hedge effectiveness basis risk and asset performance under different market conditions.

3. Risk Framework & Governance

Participate in the development and improvement of risk policies methodologies and procedures.

Prepare and maintain regular risk reports and dashboards for internal committees and business units.

Ensure clear and up-to-date documentation of methodologies processes and controls.

4. Tools & Data Automation

Contribute to the automation of recurring risk reports and analytics.

Support the continuous improvement of data workflows reporting templates and visualization tools.

5. Stakeholder Communication

Collaborate with internal teams to provide insights on exposures metrics and risk control mechanisms including those related to storage assets.

Present analytical findings and risk concepts in a clear structured and business-relevant manner.

Availability to Travel: Up to 10%

What are we looking for:

1. Academic Skills:

  • University Degree and Graduate Degree (includes Master or other graduate level degrees) - Engineering.

2. Professional Experience:

  • Experience level: Up to 2 years.
  • Required:
    • Experience in the energy sector preferably in roles involving data analysis trading risk or operations.
    • Solid understanding of data-driven or market-oriented processes.
  • Preferred:
    • Exposure to market risk concepts (e.g. Var stress testing exposure analysis).
    • Experience with Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) or asset-backed portfolios.
    • Background in reporting internal controls or governance processes.

3. Specific Knowledge:

  • Required:
    • Proficiency with analytical tools such as Excel Power BI Python or SQL.
  • Preferred:
    • Familiarity with quantitative models or risk modelling techniques.
    • Knowledge about platforms like Datahub and Databricks

4. Languages:

  • English advanced level Spanish proficient
