Job Description:

Stop Loss Underwriting Manager

Location: This role enables associates to work virtually full-time with the exception of required in-person training sessions providing maximum flexibility and autonomy. This approach promotes productivity supports work-life integration and ensures essential face-to-face onboarding and skill development.

The Stop Loss Underwriting Manager is responsible for managing the activities of a group of underwriters. Manages workflow and overall performance of group.

How You Will Make an Impact

Primary duties may include but are not limited to:

  • Monitors and influences profitability of renewal and prospects in accordance with Corporate Stop Loss Underwriting Guidelines.
  • Supervises calculation or both renewal and prospective group rates for assigned business.
  • Ensure end to end execution of rating targets and key performance indicators for stop loss portfolio.
  • Oversee the review and approval process for decisions and recommendations related to large and complex stop loss cases.
  • Maintains adequate staffing levels to ensure assigned workload can be completed within established timeframes.
  • Manages special projects.
  • Hires trains coaches counsels and evaluates performance of direct reports.

Minimum Requirements:

Requires a BA/BS in a related field; Minimum 7 years of related experience; or any combination of education and experience which would provide an equivalent background.

Preferred Skills Capabilities and Experiences:

  • CPCU CLU LOMA HIAA or other insurance related courses preferred.
  • Previous experience using connexures ESL Office
  • Stop Loss underwriting experience preferred
  • Demonstrated expertise knowledge and proficiency in Medical Stop Loss Underwriting.
