As a Full Stack Engineer on our team you will be at the heart of this mission designing and developing solutions that span the entire technology stack. You will build sophisticated user-facing applications using and TypeScript while also engineering the robust data-intensive backend services that power them. We are looking for a versatile problem-solver who is passionate about creating seamless user experiences backed by powerful scalable systems. If you excel at connecting beautiful frontend design with elegant backend architecture you will be a perfect fit.
What You Will Do:
End-to-End Ownership:Design develop and maintain full-stack applications from responsive frontend components in to scalable backend services and data pipelines in Java and Scala.
Build for Sellers:Create intuitive and powerful user-facing tools and analytics dashboards that help sellers manage their products analyze performance and discover growth opportunities.
Scalable Architecture:Architect and implement high-performance streaming data processing systems and microservices that can handle internet-scale traffic and data volume.
Collaborate and Innovate:Work closely with product managers UX designers and other engineering teams to translate complex business needs into simple elegant technical solutions.
Enhance the Platform:Develop and optimize backend services for processing and analyzing product data including images and customer reviews to improve listing quality and search visibility.
Drive Technical Excellence:Establish and execute on a long-term architectural roadmap championing best practices in both frontend and backend development including code quality testing CI/CD and performance.
Data-Driven Solutions:Develop optimal data models for storage and retrieval (NoSQL Big Data) and build robust data pipelines using technologies like Spark Flink and Kafka to support our applications.
Technical Leadership:Functionally decompose complex problems into straightforward maintainable solutions and provide mentorship to other engineers raising the bar for the entire team.
Bachelors Degree in Computer Science a related field or equivalent practical experience.
6 years of professional software development experience with a proven track record of building and shipping full-stack applications.
Frontend Proficiency:Strong expertise inTypeScriptand a modern JavaScript framework ( preferred; React or Angular experience is valuable). Deep understanding ofHTML5CSS3 and building responsive accessible user interfaces.
Backend Proficiency:5 years of hands-on experience building data-intensive applications and distributed systems using languages likeJavaorPython.
Data Systems Expertise:Strong knowledge of open-source frameworks and technologies such asSpringKafkaElasticsearch and distributed data processing engines likeSparkorFlink.
Distributed Systems:Solid experience designing implementing and maintaining distributed systems at scale with a strong grasp of data structures algorithms and performance optimization.
Cloud & APIs:Hands-on experience with cloud platforms () and a strong understanding of designing and consumingRESTfulAPIs.
Agile Mindset:A self-starter with the ability to navigate ambiguity adapt to evolving priorities and thrive in a fast-paced collaborative environment.
Masters Degree in Computer Science or a related field.
Proven success in taking a leading role in the architecture and delivery of complex customer-facing software systems.
Experience with modern data warehousing and table formats likeIcebergorClickHouse.
Demonstrated ability to influence software engineering best practices and patterns across a broader organization.
A keen eye for UI/UX and a passion for building products that are not only powerful but also a pleasure to use.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
A customer-first mindset with a passion for working backward from customer needs to deliver impactful solutions.
Pay & Benefits
Our compensation reflects the cost of living across several US geographic markets. At Coupang your base pay is one part of your total compensation.
The base pay for this position ranges from $142000/year in our lowest geographic market to $309000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on several factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge skills and experience.
