Job Description
oaching responsibilities:
- Serve as Varsity Asst. Coach for the Girls Volleyball Program.
- Assist with developing monitoring supervising and training student-athletes to play competitive Volleyball.
- Assist with an effective training program.
- Motivate and mentor student-athletes on and off the Court.
- Foster teamwork sportsmanship and skills development.
- Ensure the safety and well-being of CPS student-athletes.
- Cooperate in a timely manner with School athletic director and the District Athletic Department in regard to requests for information that might be pertinent and/or required periodically.
- Meet all the requirements set forth by the District Board of Education the Ohio High School Athletic Association (OHSAA) and the Ohio Department of Education (ODE) relative to the mandated coaching requirements (Coaches Tool Chest (CTC) and the ODE Pupil Activity Permit (PAP).
- Check the status of academically eligibility for all prospective student-athletes.
- Follow the District Athletic Department Policies as outlined in the CPS Coaches Handbook and meet all thecriteria as outlined in the job description.
- Model the behavior expected of our student-athletes including timeliness to practicesand games being positive and enthusiastic being respectful and practicing construction criticism while upholding the disciplines of the program.
- Maintain a suitable sideline conduct including the use of appropriate language at all times.
- Recognize the need to be aware of and implement all applicable administrative policies set forth by the District Board of Education Superintendents of Schools School Principals Conference Leagues ODE and OHSAA.
- Participate in clinics and other available programs to improve coaching performance.
- Participate in School events (i.e. Awards Night Pep Assemblies Athletic Boosters Meetings etc.).
- Ensure that team is well-prepared for opponents.
- Maintain accurate inventory of equipment and supplies.
SKills/Qualifications:
- Fundraising experience.
- Demonstrated knowledge and skills associated with the sport.
- Strong leadership skills.
- Has the ability to motivate and inspire student-athletes.
- Serve as a positive role model.
- Must be passionate and dedicated to inspire student-athletes.
- Previous experience coaching Volleyball required.
Training/Certifications:
- Ohio Secondary Teaching Certificate preferred.
- Evidence of successful past coaching experience at the high school and/or College level is preferred.
- Provide satisfactory result of a County Police Records check State BCII check and a FBI Fingerprint Background Check.
- Posses an Ohio Department of Education (ODE) Pupil Activity Permit (PAP).
- Provide proof of completion of Coaches Tool Chest (CTC) Training/Certification.
Contract Provisions:
Type of Contract: Supplemental Annual Limited
Salary: Per Schedule E Contract of current C.F.T. Labor Agreement
