Position SummaryWe are seeking an experienced and visionary Director of Critical Care Nursing to lead our high-acuity departments including the ICU CSU and Dialysis. This position is responsible for the clinical operational and fiscal management of the assigned units ensuring high-quality safe and efficient patient care delivery. The Director plays a pivotal role in strategy development performance improvement and evidence-based leadership supporting staff and aligning departmental goals with the broader mission of Baylor Scott & White Sunnyvale.
Key ResponsibilitiesProvide day-to-day and strategic leadership for ICU CSU and Dialysis units.
Drive excellence in patient safety care quality and service delivery.
Lead and support nurse managers/supervisors in evidence-based practice and leadership development.
Address and resolve patient or physician concerns in an administrative leadership capacity.
Develop long-term strategic and staffing plans to align with organizational objectives.
Maintain compliance with clinical standards regulatory readiness and disaster preparedness.
Mentor and coach leadership team members in resource utilization performance improvement and change management.
Participate in professional organizations and promote staff involvement in continued education and shared governance.
Oversee the creation and revision of policies and procedures performance reviews and human resource management.
Registered Nurse (TX license) Required
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited nursing program Required
3 5 years of leadership experience in critical care nursing Required
Successful completion of a critical care course Required
Current AHA BLS and ACLS certification Required
CPI certification (or willingness to obtain within six months of hire) Required
Strong written and verbal communication skills in English; bilingual skills preferred
Proficient in basic computer applications and electronic medical record systems
