Job Description
Registered Nurse D4 Acute Medical/Telemetry (Night Shift)
Location: Athena Medtech
Department: D4 Intermediate Step-Down Telemetry Unit
Shift: 3 x 12-hour shifts/week Monday to Friday 7:00 PM 7:30 AM
Duration: 13-week contract
Hours Per Week: 36
Shift Rotation: Every other weekend & every other holiday
Call Requirement: None
Radius Restriction: Must reside outside a 75-mile radius
EHR: Epic
Certifications Required: BLS (required) ACLS (preferred)
Experience Required: Minimum 2 years of relevant experience
Athena Medtech is actively seeking a qualified and experienced Travel Registered Nurse to join our D4 Acute Medical Inpatient team. This is a fast-paced Intermediate Step-Down Telemetry Unit (Class I) caring for complex cardiac and post-procedural patients. Ideal candidates will bring strong telemetry and cardiology experience to support high-acuity care needs.
Clinical Focus Areas:-
Cardiac medications and infusions
-
Telemetry monitoring and temporary pacemaker management

Post-procedural care (e.g. Cath Lab Electrophysiology TAVR)

Heart failure (CHF) Rapid Atrial Fibrillation (RAF) and medication loading

Pre- and post-operative cardiac surgical care

Step-down from CVICU and vascular PACU (AAA carotids)

Develop implement and evaluate comprehensive patient care plans.

Monitor document and report changes in patient conditions.

Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure coordinated and effective care.

Execute medical and nursing orders with precision and professionalism.

Participate in discharge planning ensuring safe and informed transitions of care.

Active RN license in good standing

Minimum 2 years of experience in a Medical/Surgical or Telemetry setting

Demonstrated competence in cardiac care telemetry and intermediate step-down units

Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills

Effective communication and collaboration in multidisciplinary settings
