Job Description
We are seeking a seasoned and motivated Civil Project Manager to join our growing Spartanburg SC office. This leadership role is pivotal to the success of our projects clients and teams. The Civil Project Manager is responsible for managing all phases of civil engineering design and development projects from concept through construction while leading internal teams liaising with clients and ensuring design excellence.
As a Project Manager you will oversee multiple projects concurrently managing scopes budgets schedules permitting quality control and client communication. You will also provide technical guidance mentorship and performance management for engineers and designers while supporting business development and strategic initiatives within the firm.
Key Responsibilities:
Project Oversight & Execution

- Manage and direct all phases of civil site development projects.
- Oversee technical production of design plans reports and construction documents.
- Establish project schedules milestones and deliverables ensuring on-time and within-budget execution.
- Ensure quality assurance and quality control (QA/QC) procedures are followed throughout project life cycles.
Client & Stakeholder Management

- Serve as primary point of contact for clients consultants and permitting agencies.
- Build and maintain long-term relationships with clients understanding their goals and proactively addressing their needs.
- Lead and attend client meetings public hearings design charrettes and coordination calls.
Leadership & Team Development

- Supervise and mentor Project Engineers Designers Technicians and Interns.
- Conduct performance reviews assign project responsibilities and develop career paths.
- Promote knowledge-sharing cross-training and team morale within project teams.
Strategic Contribution & Business Development

- Collaborate with leadership on proposal development project pursuits and fee structures.
- Identify opportunities for project expansion or new business.
- Engage in strategic initiatives community outreach and industry involvement to elevate SWs market presence.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited institution.
- Experience: 8 15 years of experience in civil engineering with demonstrated project and team management experience.
- Certifications:
- Professional Engineer (P.E.) license required.
- Valid drivers license.
Desired Skills & Competencies:
- Proven ability to manage multiple large-scale land development or infrastructure projects.
- Deep understanding of permitting processes zoning regulations and construction methods in South Carolina and surrounding regions.
- Strong command of AutoCAD Civil 3D and other relevant software platforms.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong business acumen and financial literacy related to project budgeting and profitability.
- Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving and conflict resolution skills.
- Team-first mindset with a passion for leadership and mentorship.
