Threadroll Operator
Shift: 1st & 2nd
Pay: $32-$40/hr
Position Summary
Focuses on setting up and operating thread rolling machines to manufacture fasteners and special products. This role requires understanding production specifications quality standards and the ability to perform basic troubleshooting.
Key responsibilities include interpreting work orders performing in-process inspections and maintaining a clean work area.
Key Responsibilities:
- Set up and operate thread rolling machines:This includes installing dies making adjustments and ensuring the machine is running according to specifications.
- Interpret work orders and blueprints: Operators need to understand the requirements of each job to properly set up and operate the machines.
- Perform in-process inspections:This involves checking the quality of parts during production to ensure they meet the required standards.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area:
- Basic troubleshooting skills are needed to identify and resolve minor problems.
- Operators must follow all safety procedures and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
- This could include tasks like material handling preventative maintenance or training other operators.
Required Skills:
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and work orders: This is essential for understanding job requirements.
- Basic math skills: Working with fractions and decimals is often necessary.
- Experience with inspection tools: Familiarity with micrometers calipers and other measuring tools is important.
- Basic knowledge of thread rolling tooling and equipment: Understanding the tools used in the process is essential.
- Ability to lift up to 45lbs: Some physical demands are involved in the job.
- Teamwork and communication skills: Operators need to work well with others and communicate effectively.
Additional Information:
Some positions may require experience with specific types of thread rolling machines such as flat die thread rolling or fillet roll machines.
Experience with SPC (Statistical Process Control) and ISO documentation may also be required.
