Smart Hands Technician Network Engineering (CCNP Certified)

Onsite Costa Rica The Newmont Global Delivery Center in Santa Ana Costa Rica is located at Avenida Escazu Building 100 4th floor Santa Ana Costa Rica

Approximately 3 Weeks

Partner Rate: $40 - $45/hr on W2

Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled and hands-on IT professional to support a short-term onsite project for Newmont Mining in Costa Rica. This role requires a proactive technician with strong Smart Hands capabilities a solid foundation in network engineering and proven experience with Cisco technologies at a CCNP level.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide onsite Smart Hands support for network infrastructure including racking stacking patching and hardware troubleshooting.
  • Assist remote engineers with physical tasks such as equipment installation cable management and diagnostics.
  • Configure and troubleshoot Cisco network devices (routers switches firewalls) under the guidance of the remote engineering team.
  • Perform basic testing and validation of network connectivity and performance.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of work performed and escalate issues as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with site safety and operational protocols.

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a Smart Hands or field technician role.
  • Strong understanding of networking fundamentals and hands-on experience with Cisco hardware.
  • CCNP certification (or equivalent experience) is required.
  • Ability to work independently and communicate effectively with remote teams.
  • Fluent in English; Spanish proficiency is a plus.
  • Must be available to work onsite in Costa Rica for the full duration of the project.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience in mining or industrial environments.
  • Familiarity with structured cabling standards and data center best practices.
