Job Description
Title: MES Technician/Technician II
Location West Point GA
Duration : 3 month Contract to Hire role
Note: Must be open to multiple shifts as we do a rotation every few months.
Essential functions:
- Monitor and respond to problems with MES & Glovis GGA computer systems. This includes covering phone and radio calls from production and maintenance.
- Complete periodic checklists regarding MES & Glovis GGA computer systems.
- Promptly respond to and resolve issues and requests as they arise.
- Work with other Analysts and other MES team members to resolve issues.
- Escalate issues as per MES escalation standards
- Work in both a control room and on the plant floor.
- Work overtime as needed to support production as well as projects
- Reconfigure and replace computers scanners and printers as they fail.
- Attend some holidays and the summer shutdown period to perform preventative maintenance of computers and MES equipment throughout the plant.
- Assist customers with installations and modifications regarding MES systems. This includes: computer installation scanner installation and computer repair.
Requirements:
- High school graduate or equivalent
- 2 years of IT experience.
- Strong computer troubleshooting hardware and software support
- Experience with Windows Microsoft Word Excel Microsoft Office Web Browsers and taking phone calls
- Experience with building computers imaging computers or installing Windows
- Must be able to think analytically
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
- Ability to work well in a team environment.
- Ability to interact positively with internal and external customers.
- CompTIA A preferred
- Must be able to work shift rotation
