Job Description

The BargerGard Technician is responsible for preparation set-up start and running BargerGard manufacturing equipment under the guidance of the Production Shift Leader. Accountabilities also include ensuring that jobs meet quality specifications manufacturing standards and that safety procedures are followed while working to continuously improve quality and productivity of manufacturing operations.

Essential Accountabilities


Machine operation

  1. Set-up operate and troubleshoot equipment to produce BargerGuard parts to specification.
  2. Ensure maximum efficiency of set-up to include set-up time materials production rate and material consumption.
  3. Machine readiness - inspect machinery equipment and tooling prior to set-up.
  4. Identify issues which adversely affect product requirements and communicate with appropriate department personnel for resolution.
  5. Perform routine maintenance and cleaning.
  6. Identify nonconforming materials/products and work with shift leader for resolution.

Quality

  1. Ensure part quality meets established standards.
  2. Perform housekeeping duties.
  3. Follow Good Manufacturing Practices.

Communication

  1. Complete all shift documentation/paperwork.
  2. Shift hand-off - go over job status and updates with incoming shift.

Safety

  1. Participate in safety programs.
  2. Follow all established safety procedures.
  3. Wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Six (6) months manufacturing or related experience;
  • Mechanical aptitude;
  • Ability to read write and speak English to meet training safety and quality requirements.

Desired Skills

  • Experience operating manufacturing equipment;
  • Organization and time management;
  • Computer and software skills;
  • Knowledge of quality control principles and Statistical Process Control

Position Requirements

Work Environment Conditions:

Inside (other): Good Manufacturing Procedures/American Institute of Bakers certified manufacturing environment


Equipment/Tools Used:

Manufacturing equipment computers controls measurement equipment pallet jacks hand tools


Physical Requirements: Light work (lift 10 lbs): continuously - product and hand tools

Medium Work (lift 11-30 lbs.) regularly - product and hand tools

Heavy Work (lift 31-50 lbs.) occasionally - (one to two times per shift): Machine tools/molds Other Physical Requirements: Bending stooping climbing reaching twisting standing for long periods of time Mental Requirements: Reading writing calculating interpersonal skills reasoning/analysis works with minimal supervision
