HWI has a fantastic opportunity to join our logistics team as a Traffic Specialist II.

Summary

The Traffic Specialist II is responsible for managing all load tendering activities from external/non-HWI shipping locations in a manner that ensures cost effective transportation of goods at service levels that meet corporate objectives. Logistics invoice payment processing and oversight.
Responsibilities
  • Ensuring all orders are dispatched and assigned for pickup on the appropriate ship date to meet promised delivery dates in the most cost-efficient method available.
  • Creating all physical transactions to ensure that all shipping documentation (bills of lading packing slips export documents etc.) are generated on a timely basis and contain accurate information.
  • HWI logistics metrics management analysis and reporting to include: Cost 3-day lead time and performance metrics. Results must be communicated to the appropriate stakeholders.
  • Communicating daily with shipping sites carriers and internal/external customers regarding daily shipping requirements and/or tracking information.
  • Auditing freight invoices processing and payment.
  • Supporting HarbisonWalker business objectives by identifying and implementing opportunities for continuous improvement and innovation.
  • Logistics freight claim processing and follow up.
Requirements:
  • B.S. degree in Business Logistics Supply Chain or related field
  • Requires computer operation skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and advanced excel expertise
  • Requires knowledge of Oracle/OTM and web-based software (CarrierPoint etc.)
  • Requires strong interpersonal and communications skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Requires strong analytical skills and the ability to assemble and quickly analyze data to make decisions
  • Requires time management skills and the ability to manage multiple priority projects at the same time
  • Requires the ability to solve business problems independently
  • The Traffic Specialist II requires two (2) four (4) years of professional experience in transportation planning.
Physical and Environmental Requirements:
  • Physical Activity: Requires more than 2/3 of time sitting and talking or hearing; 1/3 to 2/3 of time standing walking using hands/fingers to handle and/or feel and reaching with hands and arms; less than 1/3 of time climbing or balancing and stooping kneeling crouching or crawling.
  • Lifting: Requires lifting up to 10 pounds less than 1/3 of time.
  • Vision: Requires accurate close distance and color vision and the ability to focus.
  • Environment: Requires more than 2/3 of time in an office setting with very limited exposure; less than 1/3 of time exposed to wet/humid conditions fumes or airborne particles toxic/caustic chemicals outdoor weather and extreme heat/cold.
  • Noise: Requires exposure to moderate noise conditions.
