Job Description

Department Overview

The Access Control Technician maintains inspects and repairs access control systems. This includesbadge access security cameras and related infrastructure and software. This position providestechnical expertise and support for periodic testing corrective maintenance/repair minormodifications and upgrades of Access Control Systems. The work will be performed in all OHSUowned and designated leased buildings both on and off the Marquam Hill campus. The AccessControl Technician reports to the Utilities Manager.

Function/Duties of Position

  • Perform maintenance repair and modifications to OHSU AccessControl Systems. Analyze troubleshoot and repair system failurestroubles and alarms
  • Make minor modifications/enhancements to the system panels and field devices.
  • Make modifications/enhancements to system programming as needed
  • Respond and triage work requests from system users
  • Design/develop workflow tools procedures and performance indicators tomaintain and document repair and maintenance activities in accordancewith standards set by regulatory accreditation and property insurancecarriers as well as industry best practices.

  • Project Support. Review construction documents to ensure consistencywith OHSU specifications and standards. Assist in the approval process for Acceptance Testing and Commissioning. Update and maintain asset inventory for Access Control System components. Update and maintain as-built drawings and Facilities library for Access Control Components.

  • Respond as needed to emergencies related to job classification and in accordance with skill set and qualifications.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

  • Four years HVAC/DDC experience with building control systems performing modification adaptation construction and design work of an intricate nature OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Four years experience with steam generation chilled water building ventilating pneumatic computerized

    maintenance programs and oversight of digital control systems.

  • Valid State of Oregon drivers license.
  • Participation in or completion of Oregon Restricted Energy electricians License program.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 1years of programming Access Control and Security Camera systems.
  • 2 years technical support of installations of Access Control and Security Camera systems.
  • State of Oregon restricted energy electricians license
  • NICET I for Security Systems.
  • Factory training certification for Lenel and/or Milestone.
  • Experience using AutoCAD and/or Revit.
  • Basic familiarity with using Oracle eAM.

Additional Details

Must be able to adjust schedule as needed to minimize operations impacts to all OHSU missions.
