Dillons Highways & Bridges Practice is looking for a Bridge Engineer to join our multidisciplinary team of professionals. You will have the opportunity to work on new and exciting projects share your exceptional engineering solutions and provide clients with a fully integrated and superior customer experience.

This position is available at our Calgaryoffice.
Responsibilities
- Assist project managers and engineers in the functional and detailed design ofbridges culverts and other transportation structures.
- Assistproject managers and engineers in the design and construction of industrial and/or building projects.
- Prepare documents including construction drawings contract specifications calculations and quantity take off estimates.
- Liaise with multidisciplinary team members including engineers planners architects and technical and administrative support staff.
- Perform field work for structural assessments periodic site inspections during construction construction observation as well as preparation of follow up reporting.
- Review and respond to shop drawings and submittals during construction activities
- Provide quality client services with particular emphasis on government and infrastructure contractor clients within the transportation market
- Contribute to business development activities including proposal preparation (initiation and submission) reports and presentations and client liaison.
- Business travel upon request
- Commit to self-development and ongoing learning and professional development.
- Contribute to Dillons corporate profile through active participation in professional associations and committees.
Qualifications
- A degree in civil engineering. Graduate level degree would be an asset
- Licensed to practice as a structural engineer
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience in bridge design
Experience
- Proficient in the full range of design activities including preparation of preliminary and detail design drawings and reports contract document preparation and tendering
- Experienced in the design of various bridge types culverts and other transportation structures
- Proficiency in the use of computer modeling techniques using SAP2000 CSiBridge or STAAD and familiarity with current AutoCAD software
- Strong organizational and interpersonal skills along with both verbal and written communication
- Proficient technical report and specification writing skills
- Experience in construction contract administration would be an asset
- Experience withbridgemaintenance and rehabilitation is an asset
- Experience with projects delivered for the City of Calgary and Alberta Transportation is an asset
