Job Description

APPOINTMENT: Mathematics Intervention Teacher shall be appointed annually upon recommendation.

Shall hold a bachelors degree or higher and the required Kentucky certificate for the assigned position. (An emphasis in mathematics is preferred.) Shall have experience as a classroom teacher. Shall demonstrate the ability to work effectively with students peers and adults. Shall demonstrate the ability to communicate effectively with students parents and faculty.

Shall determine appropriate action within clearly defined guidelines. Shall present a positive image of the school to parents and convey to them the schools genuine concern with the education growth and development of each student. Shall seek to establish friendly and cooperative partnerships between home and school. Shall work to develop a positive public relationship between the school district and the community. Shall carry out assignments in a timely manner without undue checking. Shall react positively to directives. Shall have a willingness to cooperate with the superintendent district administrators principals and staff. Shall maintain the confidentiality both verbally and in written form of each students educational record. Shall strive to maintain and improve professional competence. Shall take necessary precautions to protect students equipment materials and facilities. Shall adhere to School Board of Education Policies and Procedures.

SPECIFIC DUTIES and PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITES:

1. Shall focus on math small group instruction/intervention.

2. Shall report findings to supervisor.

3. Shall implement best practice math strategies for students who are identified in need.

4. Shall collaborate with regular ed. teachers as dictated by student needs.

5. Shall keep updated proper documentation.

6. Shall assist the building principal in compiling monitoring reports and encourage parent involvement.

7. Shall lead instructional evaluation of student work and follow-up teaching targets.

8. Shall be assigned to individual schools as needed.

9. Shall analyze and disaggregate student achievement data to determine curriculum or instructional priorities for teaching and learning mathematics.

10. Shall perform other duties as assigned by the Supervisor.

DAYS OF EMPLOYMENT:185 DAYS

SALARY: Commensurate with the school districts Certified Salary Schedule.
