Job Description

JOB SUMMARY:

The Director of Supply Chain will lead and optimize all aspects of pillow-related planning and purchasing processes with a focus on driving efficiency reducing inventory and costs and supporting the rollout and manufacturing operations. This role will leverage external competitive experience to identify and implement best practices contributing significant cost savings and operational improvements while supporting digital transformation initiatives. Additionally this individual will collaborate cross-functionally to align supply chain activities with business goals and utilize data-driven insights to continuously improve processes and performance.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Evaluates pillow planning processes with consideration for service level goals inventory targets and system functionality and recommends process improvements.

Reviews ERP capabilities related to PPV standard cost accuracy purchasing price breaks and intercompany transfer efficiency.

Develops and leads spend and space analyses to determine optimal pillow component storage levels.

Sets and monitors goals for inventory reduction improved turns service levels and PPV optimization.

Oversees domestic purchasing for pillow manufacturing including corrugated fiber bags and pallets.

Leads the negotiation of supply agreements to enhance supply chain competitiveness and strengthen supplier partnerships.

Develops and maintains a supplier relationship and evaluation process to ensure effective performance and compliance.

Monitors supplier performance assesses quality and delivery capabilities and identifies new suppliers to reduce lead times and lower acquisition costs.

Implements inventory control strategies to reduce overstock minimize carrying costs and support production readiness.

Collaborates with production facility general managers to identify and eliminate waste and to reduce year-over-year overstock purchases.

Leads planning and execution for all pillow product rollouts coordinating across departments and functions.

Manages direct reports and transitions purchasing ownership of pillow materials where appropriate.

Participates in digital transformation initiatives focusing on upstream process improvements and master data integrity.

Manages and improves system data accuracy across pillow planning activities.

Utilizes data analytics tools to analyze supply chain performance identify trends and implement continuous improvement initiatives.

Establishes and tracks performance metrics such as inventory turns PPV freight spend and overstock levels and recommends corrective actions.

Analyzes requisitions (REQs) supports weekly planning accuracy and ensures clean data entry into planning systems.

Ensures accurate and timely entry of purchase orders and expedites orders as necessary to support production schedules.

Maintains awareness of industry regulations and ensures compliance with sourcing packaging and purchasing requirements.

Implements and supports FOB purchasing systems and Country of Origin compliance processes.

Collaborates with cross-functional teamssuch as accounting logistics customer service and product developmenton changes related to packaging case pack specifications and rollout plans.

Partners with the VP of Supply Chain to identify cost-saving opportunities and implement strategic supply chain improvements.

Supports supplier invoice approval and resolves complex vendor-related issues.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelors degree in business logistics inventory management or a related field is required

Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in purchasing and supply chain management with a proven track record of implementing strategic initiatives; international experience preferred

Strong analytical skills with demonstrated ability to evaluate processes systems and spend data

Proven experience managing supplier relationships and purchasing teams

Familiarity with ERP systems and involvement in digital transformation projects

Extensive knowledge of industry regulations compliance standards and company products/logistics

Results-oriented mindset focused on continuous improvement cost savings and business improvements

Strong leadership skills with the ability to make decisions under pressure

Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively across multiple teams and locations

Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite supply chain management software and data analytics tools

Strong mathematical organizational and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Ability to withstand periods sitting at a desk as needed

Occasional use of upper extremities to perform keyboard functions and work on a computer

Ability to occasionally stand/walk
