Job Description:
Reporting to the Director Experiential Learning and Entrepreneurship the Manager is responsible for the operational management and administration of the External Engagement and Partnerships team which services both co-op and non-co-op programs across the College. The Manager is accountable to provide administrative leadership for 9.5 FTE at this time. The department has many qualitative and quantitative measures that Manager is responsible for including: jobs to student ratios academic integration student and employer satisfaction and reporting effectiveness of marketing activities etc.
The incumbent has the accountability to ensure that all services are provided to academic program areas and that there is growth in market share for Algonquin stakeholders. The incumbent is also responsible for providing leadership of the divisions employer and external relations activities supporting cross-promotion and business development for applied research and entrepreneurship outreach.
The incumbent will liaise and partner with other college departments and services to provide a more seamless partnership experience for external constituents. In particular the incumbent works closely with the Manager Student Talent Development to fully understand the needs of students and graduates to inform the external partnerships being pursued.
Required Qualifications:
A four (4) year degree; in Business Education marketing or other related fields.
Seven (7) years of experience with online lead generation strategies with demonstrated results. Comfort using computer-based tools including (but not limited to) word processing spreadsheets CRM database tools and specialized software plus the demonstrated ability to learn new computing skills;

Significant understanding knowledge and experience in the use of social media to achieve business goals and user-experience.
Membership in provincial national and international organizations supporting work-integrated or experiential learning entrepreneurship and/or career education;
Management skills in financial sustainability conflict resolution negotiation leadership marketing and developing partnership linkages. Demonstrated organizational skills and creativity. Demonstrated ability to prepare and administer a departmental budget;
General understanding of academic areas within the College and the associated terminology. Must have knowledge of core competencies of students and what they can and cannot offer external stakeholders. Ability to quickly evaluate business models and match skills set required to academic programs;
Aptitude for marketing/Public Relations/and online advertising and ability to implement marketing plans;
Current knowledge of market and employment trends related to employment for College students;
Demonstrated ability to produce year-over-year increases in departmental performance specifically an increase in the number of co-op placements and/or entrepreneurial engagements across the college;
Must have a demonstrated successful experience working in an environment where clients are served on a continuous basis;
Must have excellent oral and written communication skills;
Applied knowledge of Human Rights legislation confidentiality policies and Employment Standards Legislation;
Proven leadership and management skills and the ability to supervise staff use sound judgement manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
