About You
Are you a strategic thinker with a passion for policy administration and assurance RMIT University is seeking a dynamic and experiencedManager Central Policyto lead the implementation of our sector-leading policy governance framework.
Youll be the face of Central Policy working with stakeholders at all levels of the organisation to guide instil and assure policy framework principles across core lifecycle activities from design development and consultation through to approval implementation and cyclical review. This role is central to assuring best practice and compliant policy development administration and reporting across the RMIT Group as well as uplifting stakeholder capability and engagement through training and related activities.
What youll do
Manage thepolicy governance frameworkand ensure alignment with RMITs strategic goals.
Drivetraining engagement and capability-buildingacross the university.
Overseepolicy assurance activities including reporting to governance committees.
Manage thepolicy register.
Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure policies areconsulted implemented and monitoredeffectively.
Provide strategic advice and support to the University Policy Manager.
To be successful in this position youll have:
Strong knowledge of and experience in enterprise policy administration within large and complex operating environments.
Demonstrated experience in and understanding of the role of governance and policy environments in large organisations.
Excellent skills in writing policies reports for governance bodies executive briefs project proposals and communications for the digital environment. Experience in editing and reviewing policy documents.
Excellent interpersonal communication for building productive relationships including the ability to effectively communicate with and influence a range of people.
Experience building organisational capability; in a particular the ability to influence and improve productivity and outcomes.
Demonstrated ability to provide strategic advice work independently and to achieve objectives while operating within complex organisational structures.

Governance Privacy and Compliance is responsible for the full range of governance compliance policy and contract management services to all areas of RMIT. The team have expertise in governance compliance management policy privacy freedom of information contracts and complaints management.
