Job Description

POSITION: Title I Elementary Reading Teacher 1.0 FTE

QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. MA Certification Reading Specialist
  2. Previous teaching experience preferred
  3. Strong planning and organizational skills
  4. Ability to motivate students
  5. Competency with English Language Arts content and teaching instructional strategies

Reports to: Building Principal and Title I Director

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Develop and deliver appropriate supplemental Reading and Literacy curriculum that supports grade appropriate academic skills for children who have been identified as at the greatest risk of failing to meet state achievement standards in English Language Arts.
  2. To utilize available student data including tests grades work samples teacher recommendations and classroom performance to identify students in need of supplemental services.
  3. To monitor and document student progress.
  4. To collaborate with classroom teachers and student support personnel to enhance student achievement.
  5. Work cooperatively with grade level school based teams.
  6. Participate in all district Title I activities.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Per BTA Contract (183 Days)

SALARY: Per BTA contract
