Admissions Counselor-Online Food Safety
The Online Food Safety Program (OFS) at Michigan State University is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Admissions Counselor to lead admissions efforts and support program operations and financial processes. This individual will serve as the central point of contact for prospective students and play a vital role in shaping a welcoming and engaging applicant experience. They will be expected to engage individuals effectively build meaningful connections and persuasively communicate the unique value of our program to inspire enrollment and foster student success.
The ideal candidate is proactive adaptable and deeply committed to inclusive excellence. They thrive in fast-paced environments demonstrate sound judgment maintain confidentiality and bring creative solutions to complex challenges. In addition to coordinating admissions this individual will support the daily operations of the program by working collaboratively with the Program Director and Communications/Marketing Manager on financial processes recruitment initiatives and event coordination. They will also collaborate with the programs Academic Advisor as needed to support students as they matriculate and progress through the program.

Hybrid Work
This position offers a hybrid work model allowing for a combination of in-person and remote work based on mutual agreement with the supervisor and aligned with job responsibilities.
Knowledge equivalent to that which normally would be acquired by completing a four year college degreein counseling psychology education or related fields; six months to one year of related and progressively more responsible or expansive work experience in admissions counseling public relations student services or related area including implementing programs and schedules making formal presentations and working with the public; experience with database spreadsheet desk top publishing and/or presentation software; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
