ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Provides emergency/unscheduled repairs of all equipment and performs scheduled maintenance repairs of equipment during preventive service.
Performs mechanic skills including but not limited to mechanical electrical pneumatic and hydraulic troubleshooting and repair of machines.
Diagnose cause of any malfunction and perform repairs to manufacturers specifications including engines transmissions clutches suspension steering fuel ignition (gas & diesel) electrical systems brakes HVAC systems etc.
Reads and interprets equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.
Follow paperwork flow procedures including documenting correct mileage/hours save & tag all warranty and core parts document all repairs on work orders parts ordering & maintenance schedules.
Perform required inspections and preventative maintenance on all vehicles & equipment to maximize the safety productivity and the life of the unit.
Comply with OSHA safety and health rules.
Daily clean-up of work area.
All other duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS:
Knowledge of engines and controls
Knowledge of transmissions and controls
Knowledge of brakes and suspensions
Knowledge of hydraulics
Knowledge of the various vehicles and equipment such as tractor trailers boom truck & trailers
Skilled in diagnosis and repair of electrical systems on trucks and equipment
Skilled in welding and cutting
Skilled in inspections & DOT inspections/compliance
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
2 years of related mechanic experience & training repairing/maintain heavy duty equipment
Current valid drivers license (CDL-A a plus)

WORKING CONDITIONS:
While performing the duties of this job the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles moving mechanical parts and vibration.
The noise level in the work environment can be loud.
The employee is required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop kneel crouch or crawl.
The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
The employee may frequently climb ladders.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision distance vision color vision peripheral vision depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
