Job Description
We are seeking a versatile Senior Software Engineer to join our team developing new-to-world products. In this role you will conceive and develop key software architectures from early prototyping through mass production. This position requires an adaptable engineer who can work effectively across multiple technology stacks and various layers of device functionalityfrom low-level embedded systems to application interfaces. The ideal candidate is a hands-on builder who thrives in dynamic environments takes ownership of challenging problems and can quickly master new technologies as needed.
Key job responsibilities
- Design and implement software across multiple technology stacks and platforms
- Rapidly prototype new features and technologies to prove concepts and validate design approaches
- Take complete ownership of complex technical challenges with minimal direction
- Develop and optimize code for embedded systems and hardware interfaces
- Create robust efficient and extensible system architecture
- Collaborate closely with hardware engineers product managers and design teams
- Drive engineering best practices and technical excellence across projects
- Mentor junior team members and contribute to improving engineering processes

- 5 years of non-internship professional software development experience
- 5 years of programming with at least one software programming language experience
- 5 years of leading design or architecture (design patterns reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
- Experience as a mentor tech lead or leading an engineering team
- Strong proficiency in lower-level languages such as C/C
- Experience with Python and other scripting languages
- Experience with embedded software development and hardware integration
- Proven ability to work across different technology stacks and programming paradigms
- Track record of successful rapid prototyping and bringing products from concept to market
- Understanding of software/hardware interfaces and constraints
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to learn new technologies quickly
- Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams
- Demonstrated ownership mentality and history of driving projects to completion

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $151300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $261500/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge skills and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered equity sign-on payments and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package in addition to a full range of medical financial and/or other benefits.
