CLASSIFICATION STANDARDS:
Positions allocable to this class work under the administrative and technical direction of a physician and plan organize and direct the activities of a physical fitness program such as the cardiopulmonary program within the Countys Occupational Health Services.
REQUIREMENTS TO QUALIFY:
Three years experience in either teaching exercise physiology at the accredited college or university level or planning and conducting programs of physiological fitness evaluation in a medical setting. A Masters degree* in Physiology or Physical Education with specialization in exercise physiology may be substituted for one year of the required experience.
LICENSE:
A valid California Class C Driver License or the ability to utilize an alternative method of transportation when needed to carry out job-related essential functions.
PHYSICAL CLASS:
Physical Class II - Light: This class includes administrative and clerical positions requiring light physical effort that may include occasional light lifting to a 10-pound limit and some bending stooping or squatting. Considerable ambulation may be involved.
*To receive credit for your education include a copy of your official diploma official transcript or letter/certificate from an accredited institution within fifteen (15) calendar days of application submission date. EXAMINATION CONTENT:
This examination will consist of TWO(2) parts:
Part I: Multiple choice and/or simulation assessment(s) weighted 35% assessing:
MULTIPLE-CHOICE AND SIMULATION ASSESSMENTS ARE NOT REVIEWABLE BY CANDIDATES PER CIVIL SERVICE RULE 7.19.
Candidates must achieve a passing score of 70% or higher in Part I to be invited to Part II.
Part II: Structured interview weighted 65% assessing:
Applicants must meet the requirements and achieve a passing score of 70% or higher on the examination to be added onto the list of eligible candidates.

ELIGIBILITY INFORMATION:Applications will be processed as they are received.
The names of candidates receiving a passing score on the examination will be added to the eligible register in the order of their score group for a period of twelve (12) months following the date of promulgation.
