Job Description

Position #22402: Entry Level Communications Support/Temporary (Multiple Positions Available)

Posting Dates: 06/18/2025 - 06/25/2025 (Or Until Filled)

Location: Administration Center

Hours: 8 Hours per Day Temporary forDuration of Project(Approximately 78 working days July through October2025)

Salary: $20 per Hour

No Prior Communications Experience Required

This is an off-schedule non-bargaining position

JOB DESCRIPTION

Were looking for energetic individuals interested in the field of digital communications to provide support to our Communications teamfrom approximately mid-July through mid-September. This role includes website development support including writing proofreading/editing digital asset management and general communications assistance. No prior professional communications experience is required.

To perform this job successfully an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge skill and/or ability required. CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT

  1. High school diploma or equivalent.
  2. Must present transcripts of highest level of education within thirty (30) days of hire if applicable.
  3. Must be able to perform the required qualifcations of the position with or without reasonable accommodation.
  4. Must be able to meet the Physical Demands of the position.
  5. Completion of Safe Schools Web Based Training within thirty (30) days of hire and yearly thereafter.
  6. Must pass a background check which includes employee paid fingerprinting.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED

  1. Excellent writing editing and proofreading skills
  2. Basic website/CMS experience (e.g. WordPress Squarespace Wix or similar)
  3. Strong attention to detail and organization
  4. Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines
  5. Quick learner with a proactive attitude
  6. Must possess an aptitude for new technology and ability to troubleshoot technical issues as they arise

QUALIFICATIONS PREFERRED

  1. Experience in communications
  2. Experience with website content management systems (CMS) and design
  3. Experience with graphic design (Canva Adobe Suite)

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Help build edit and update website pages and content
  2. Write proofread and format web and print materials
  3. Upload and organize digital content (images documents videos etc.)
  4. Ensure ADA accessibility and usability across platforms
  5. Provide technical website assistance and troubleshoot minor issues
  6. Support photo/video projects
  7. Maintain accuracy and consistency in all public-facing content on website
  8. Perform other duties assigned by the Executive Director of Communications and Public Relations.
  9. Perform all duties of the position within the scope of Kennewick School District policies and procedures including regular attendance and punctuality.
