Visy is powering the circular economy closing the loop between packaging remanufacturing and recycling. Over 75 years weve grown to 7000 employees and 150 global operations predominantly in Australia and New Zealand.
We believe materials are not recycled until theyve been made into new products. We collect and sort recyclable materials like paper cardboard glass plastics and metals from households and businesses and locally remanufacture them back into new sustainable packaging. From cardboard boxes water bottles and jam jars to food and beverage cans we are using recycled content to power Australia and New Zealands food and beverage packaging industry.
Role details:
Were on the lookout for a detail-oriented professional with a passion for detail to join the team on a 6-month contract and based in Essendon Fields. If youre someone who can handle customer billing freight and vendor invoice management claims and commission processing and supporting month-end activities such as journals and account reconciliations this might be the role for you!
What youll do:
The Assistant Accountant supports the finance operations of Visys Global Trading division with a focus on accurate transaction processing invoice validation and financial control. The role also assists with budgeting intercompany transactions and audit readiness with scope to grow into broader accounting responsibilities over time.
Key responsibilities include:
- Ensure Timely and Accurate Financial Processing
- Support Month-End and Financial Control Activities
- Strengthen Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Contribute to Process Improvement and System Efficiency
- Customer Billing & Freight & Vendor Invoice Processing
- Month-End & Reconciliations
- General Support & Process Improvement
What you will bring to the team:
- Tertiary qualification in Accounting / Finance
- Minimum 2 years relevant experience
- Competent in spoken and written English language
- Intermediate to advanced Excel skills
- Full or partial CPA/CA qualification
- Competent in the use of MS Office Suite
- Competent in the use of SAP
- Experience in Hyperion
