Position Title: High School Soccer Coach

Job Overview:
The High School Soccer Coach is responsible for leading managing and organizing the schools soccer program in accordance with the guidelines and standards set by the North Carolina High School Athletic Association (NCHSAA). The coach will promote a positive team culture ensure the physical and emotional safety of student-athletes and develop the skills and sportsmanship of all team members.
Key Responsibilities:
- Program Management
- Develop and implement a comprehensive soccer program that aligns with NCHSAA regulations.
- Organize and conduct practices ensuring all activities are safe educational and effective.
- With assistance from Athletic Director coordinate team logistics and manage equipment.
- Coaching and Player Development
- Teach soccer skills strategies and rules to players of all skill levels.
- Foster a positive and inclusive team environment that promotes personal growth teamwork and sportsmanship.
- Assess players skills and provide individualized feedback and training plans.
- Compliance and Safety
- Ensure all team activities comply with NCHSAA rules including eligibility conduct and safety regulations.
- Maintain accurate records of player participation physicals and other required documentation.
- Implement and enforce safety protocols to protect the health and well-being of student-athletes.
- Communication
- Serve as the primary point of contact for the soccer program communicating effectively with players parents school staff and the broader community.
- Provide regular updates on team progress schedules and any changes in program activities.
- Additional Duties
- Perform other soccer coach related duties as needed by the Principal and/or Athletic Director.
Qualifications:
- Experience
- Preferred previous experience coaching soccer at the high school level or higher.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate high school athletes.
- Skills and Abilities
- Strong knowledge of soccer rules techniques and strategies.
- Excellent organizational communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with other coaches school staff and community members.
- Commitment to fostering a safe and positive environment for all student-athletes.
Physical Demands:
- Ability to demonstrate soccer techniques and participate in physical activities.
- Capacity to stand for extended periods and lift/move equipment as necessary.
