You will be updated with latest job alerts via emailUnder the supervision of a registered nurse (RN) and in collaboration with the clinic administrator the Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) will provide direct patient care in accordance with the Nevada Nurse Practice Act professional standards of care state regulations and accreditation standards.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
Assist the registered nurse (RN) and/or practitioner through data collection concerning the physical psychological social and cultural dimensions of patients according to practice standards and clinical policy/procedure. Completes independent nurse visits as allowed per scope and under the direction of the RN and/or practitioner supervision.
Participates in patient treatment regimen including administering medications (under the supervision of a practitioner and/or registered nurse) and documents medications in accordance with best practice and clinic policy. Ensures documentation in the patient electronic health record (EHR) is accurate clear concise.
Properly prepares for care of patients by participating in pre-visit planning (chart prep) preparing exam and treatment areas per clinic policy/protocols.
Performs routine immunizations nebulizer treatments and visual acuity testing and administers and reads TB tests. Performs nursing procedures and treatments within scope of responsibilities according to clinic specific protocols.
Actively participates and assists in onboarding and mentoring of clinical staff per scope and as directed.
Assist in management of in basket messages and completes patient imaging referrals/prior authorizations per protocol.
Positively supports and contributes to clinic development as evidenced by participating in meetings committees and continuing education/training.
Assists in phlebotomy: identifies patient checks the order for requested tests and prepares equipment patient and draw site.
Implements age-appropriate interventions based on individual patients needs as directed by the registered nurse/practitioner.
Assist in evaluating the effectiveness of care given in progressing patients toward desired outcomes.
Provide/distribute pre approved patient education materials to patients and/or family members in relation to common disease processes medication and /or prescribed treatment regimes. Provide reinforcement of health teaching provided by RN and/or practitioner.
Assumes responsibility for professional development of self and contributes to and assists with the professional development of others.
Recognizes and appropriately responds to breakage/malfunction or loss of equipment safety hazards and supply deficiencies promptly reporting and placing necessary work orders.
Provides a safe environment and demonstrates teamwork in the safe delivery of patient care.
Functions effectively in a Matrix Management environment.
Completes any duties and special assignments as requested.
EXPERIENCE EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATIONS
Minimum of two (2) years of experience as a LPN Medical Assistant and/or in a healthcare related field required
Graduated from an accredited Licensed Practical Nurse Program required
LPN License in the State of Nevada required
Basic Life Support (BLS) required
KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES QUALIFICATIONS
Adheres to the LPN scope of practice and the Nevada Nursing Code of Ethics
Demonstrated ability to serve as a responsible member of the nursing team and interact in an appropriate manner with patients family members professional and other supportive personnel involved in the delivery of patient care incorporating acceptable established customer service standards into practice.
Knowledge and skill sufficient to prepare administer and appropriately document actions taken specific to commonly prescribed oral topical subcutaneous and intramuscular medications.
Knowledge and ability to recognize the need for and to institute emergency measures when indicated promptly seek the assistance of the RN and/or practitioner and assist in resuscitation procedures in cardiac and/or pulmonary arrest.
Advanced knowledge of medical terminology and procedures
Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word Excel etc.) and Google Suite (Gmail Docs etc)
Strong critical thinking and problem solving skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision
Must be able to multitask and prioritize work in a fast paced environment
Must be able to maintain confidentiality
Must be able to pay close attention to details
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
May include standing sitting and/or walking for extended periods
May include performing repetitive tasks
May include working on a special schedule (i.e. evenings and weekends)
May include working with challenging patients and clients
May include lifting up to 25 pounds
