You will be updated with latest job alerts via emailThe College of Fisheries and Ocean Sciences (CFOS) will be hiring candidates for multiple temporary positions throughout the year. Applicants will be reviewed on an as-needed basis by various departments such as Marine Biology Oceanography Fisheries or related areas. This is a temporary position where the applicant will complete tasks assigned by the supervisor in areas such as scientific laboratories fieldwork data collection ordering/receiving supplies administrative support etc. To thrive in this role prior experience knowledge or coursework in these areas is a plus.
Candidates must have the ability to exhibit a high degree of professionalism and communicate effectively verbally and in writing. Possess excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to prioritize and use sound judgment.
Dependent on the requirements of the position travel the ability to lift heavy objects drive a UA vehicle and work in remote locations may be required. Required training will be based on the duties of the position.
CFOS is one of the most geographically diverse units at UAF. The College is headquartered in Fairbanks with additional locations in Anchorage and our coastal facilities include the Seward Marine Center the NOAA-UAF Kasitsna Bay Laboratory and the Juneau Lena Point Fisheries Facility.

Position Details:
This is a non-exempt temporary position. Hours will be based on the needs of the department. New hires will be placed on the UA Temporary Staff Salary Schedule based on education and experience.
This is a pooled position which means that the position remains open over the entire academic year.
