Programme Direct - Defence

Basingstoke: Onsite 5 days per week(Travel will be required to customer sites (including London)

As a Programme Director you will contribute to this by taking responsibilityfor ensuring consistent programme delivery excellence underpinned by the Fujitsu Core values and the Defence and National Security (DNS) Charter.

The successful person will need to demonstrate strong leadership; establish pragmatic relationships with key customers; as well as drive our own delivery staff our internal stakeholders within the supporting enabling services and the wider UK delivery community towards consistent delivery excellence.

  • Financial Forecasting & Management: Accountable for forecasting and management of the account P&L (orders revenue & margin) balance sheet and cash. Accountable for driving in contract growth against the TCV forecast.
  • Customer Relationships: Establish manage and maintain the customer relationships.
  • Project Delivery and Management: Accountable for the delivery of projects and programs to budget and contracted milestones.
  • Contractual Obligations: Manage contractual obligations and commitments ensuring the associated commercial processes are in place and adopted.
  • Risk Management: Owns service project
  • Team Leadership and mentorship - Lead motivate and develop direct and indirect teams to build business capability. Manage teams to clear and unambiguous performance targets measure team and performance recognize strong performance and manage under performance.
  • Transition and Transformation: Accountable for transition and transformation deliverables within the account.
  • Support to wider Governance and Initiatives: where appropriate contribute facilitate and undertake governance reviews including but not limited to Bid Quality reviews and gateways audits and delivery health checks as well as initiatives that support DNS Strategy and MTP.

You will own the overall leadership and have ultimate accountability for the successful delivery of the programme. You will own the overall delivery direction and vision in conjunction with the Delivery Executive and the MOD customer. Will lead a team of Programme and Project managers including leveraging the PMO to achieve business benefits for both the customer and Fujitsu DNS. You will be accountable for the effective management of programmes and projects their risks issues conflicts priorities resources and communications ensuring delivery of the new capabilities and benefits. You will drive the delivery of the programmes managing key stakeholders to mutual benefit by ensuring that the programme goals are met by providing a decision-making capacity that cannot be achieved at programme or project level.

The Portfolio Delivery Director will be the main motivator throughout the delivery of change programmes managing key stakeholders to mutual benefit by ensuring that the programme goals are met by providing a motivation capacity that cannot be achieved at programme or project level.

Your transferable skills and experience:

  • Provides strong leadership and guidance to programme and project teams as well as setting strategic direction and vision.
  • Supports personal and professional development within programme team/s and wider community.
  • Directs the management of the business and overall Portfolio risk. Ensures the production of effective mitigation plans and risk assessments so that timescales and overall Portfolio / programme / project costs are understood and underwritten by all the relevant stakeholders.
  • Effective P&L management across Portfolio of programmes / projects and that all contingency usage is signed-off by the appropriate governance authority.
  • Experienced Programme Manager (large complex programs and ideally at portfolio level)
  • Strong senior customer / stakeholder management (internal / external)
  • Strong governance and control (financial/risk/issues/dependency management)
  • Finds solutions / thinks out of the box.
  • Strong communicator and experience with working under pressure
