At Tata Steel delivering high-quality steel products to our customers on time is just as important as producing them. Thats why were looking for a detail-focused and proactive Transport Co-ordinator to help manage the day-to-day movement of materials vehicles and drivers across our operations.
This is a great opportunity to join a busy logistics team where your organisation and problem-solving skills will help keep our supply chain running smoothly.
What you will do
As a Transport Co-ordinator youll be responsible for scheduling deliveries managing transport systems and acting as a key contact point between internal teams drivers and external customers.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Planning and allocating transport resources to meet delivery schedules
- Communicating with hauliers drivers and internal stakeholders
- Managing bookings paperwork and system updates in real time
- Supporting compliance with safety vehicle and transport regulations
- Monitoring delivery performance and addressing any issues or delays
- Contributing to continuous improvement within the transport function
This is a fast-paced and varied role where no two days are the same. Youll play a key role in keeping materials moving and ensuring customer satisfaction.
What you will need
Were looking for someone whos organised reliable and confident working in a logistics or transport environment. You should be able to manage multiple tasks while staying calm under pressure.
Youll need:
- Experience in transport logistics or a similar coordination role
- Strong communication skills both written and verbal
- Good working knowledge of MS Office and transport systems (SAP preferred)
- A keen eye for detail and strong problem-solving abilities
- A flexible and positive attitude to working in a fast-paced setting
Experience with haulage planning driver liaison or customer delivery tracking would be a bonus but were open to applicants from a range of backgrounds who are ready to learn.
