POSITION OVERVIEW
As a Remote Agronomist Intern you will support SICILIAMIA s permaculture and agricultural teams by navigating Italy s bureaucratic landscape sourcing critical partnerships and conducting research to advance our projects. This role requires a proactive problem-solver who thrives in independence and can drive initiatives forward with minimal supervision.
You ll bridge gaps between our international team and Italian stakeholders contacting suppliers liaising with officials and uncovering opportunities in regenerative agriculture.
This is a 4 9 month full-time (20h/week) remote internship starting June/July 2025.
Requirements
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Bureaucratic Navigation: Research and contact Italian agencies biosuppliers and officials to secure permits partnerships or compliance documentation.
- Supplier Sourcing: Identify and vet local/regional providers for seeds compost equipment and other agricultural inputs.
- Research & Reporting: Investigate best practices regulations and innovations in Italian permaculture/agroecology; summarize findings for the team.
- Project Coordination: Act as a liaison between SICILIAMIA s international team and Italian stakeholders ensuring clear communication and progress.
- Problem-Solving: Proactively address logistical legal or sourcing challenges with creative solutions.
REQUIREMENTS
KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS
- Fluent Italian (written/spoken) advanced English.
- Academic background or experience in agronomy permaculture agroecology or related fields.
- Proven research skills ability to distill complex bureaucratic or technical information into actionable insights.
- Self-driven & organised: Comfortable working remotely managing deadlines and initiating tasks without direct oversight.
- Networking prowess: Confidence in cold-calling email outreach and building professional relationships.

- Tenacity to navigate bureaucracy and pivot strategies when blocked.
