Job Description

Job Title: Assistant Manager Purchase

Department: Purchase
Reports To: Head Sourcing
Location: Trichy
CTC:per month

Position Overview:

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Assistant Manager Purchase to manage and optimize procurement functions within a manufacturing setup specifically in the lead recycling industry. The ideal candidate will have in-depth knowledge of purchasing strategies supplier negotiations and supply chain processes with exposure to both domestic and international vendor networks.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage procurement operations to ensure timely sourcing of raw materials and services.

  • Develop and maintain a strong vendor base (domestic and international) negotiate commercial terms and ensure best value procurement.

  • Gain and apply extensive technical knowledge of materials specific to the lead recycling/manufacturing industry.

  • Analyze market trends and identify new opportunities for cost-effective sourcing.

  • Evaluate vendor performance regularly to ensure compliance with quality and delivery standards.

  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams including production quality and logistics to ensure supply chain efficiency.

  • Prepare periodic procurement reports dashboards and presentations for senior management review.

  • Implement best practices in sourcing and procurement aligned with industry standards.

  • Ensure compliance with procurement policies ethical standards and regulatory requirements.

  • Mentor and guide the purchase team fostering a collaborative and high-performing environment.


Essential Qualifications:

  • Bachelor s Degree in any discipline (preferably in Supply Chain Management Commerce or Engineering).

  • Additional certifications in Procurement/Supply Chain (e.g. CPP CPSM CSCP) would be an added advantage.


Experience Required:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a mid to senior-level purchase role preferably in a manufacturing or industrial sector.

  • Proven track record in vendor development and supply chain optimization.


Key Skills & Competencies:

  • Strong negotiation and vendor management skills.

  • Sound understanding of technical specifications and commercial procurement.

  • Proficient in using ERP systems and procurement software.

  • Excellent communication reporting and presentation skills.

  • Leadership qualities and team management capabilities.

  • High level of integrity and business ethics.

  • Proactive analytical and solution-oriented approach.
