Due to increased opportunities and demand in the Energy & Natural Resources division the Energy & Natural Resources team are recruiting Project Planners to join a diverse and supportive team during a period of significant growth. Our nuclear client is at the forefront of industry leading change and we are keen to speak to individuals with project planning experience to see what Turner & Townsend can offer you. Candidates will be required to be present in our client office in Warrington for 3 days per week.
MAIN PURPOSE OF ROLE
Planners will be required to support the team and their senior planners on work packages and projects of varying size and complexity. Due to the nature of the programme of works work packages may vary in size with Planners working across multiple smaller projects or one which could be significantly larger in value. A Planner would be responsible for the build and/or maintenance of
their assigned schedule(s) understanding the logic within the defined scope as well as any interfaces with other work packages or projects. They will liaise with stakeholders to gather data that allows for regular progress updates to the schedule also playing a key role in the management of change. Their robust schedules will drive the project works helping to ensure that client objectives are met and that projects are delivered to time and cost targets and the appropriate quality standards.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
As a Planner you have a passion to provide services as required by our clients which may include:
Creation development and maintenance of project schedules that assist and align with project requirements on a complex risk managed project or programme.
Adherence to NEC or FIDIC contract processes for management of schedule data and submissions.
Assisting the project team to develop status reports to keep management informed on project progress.
Reducing uncertainty improving efficiency and understanding project objectives.
Interacting with the project team to define scope of work to develop and update detailed schedules cost information and identification of variances from original schedule.
Assisting project managers to schedule work and coordinate assignments.
Evaluation of schedule progress and performance identifying developing problem areas.
Analysis of float critical path and constraints to understand the effect of approved changes or slippages to schedule recommending alternative courses of action for recovery.
Assisting project managers to maintain timely and effective change management processes and procedures.
Undertaking project progress reviews.
Monitor and advise on status of project KPIs.
Understanding and explaining EVM reported periodically.

Qualifications :
You have professional Project Controls experience specialising in Planning and Scheduling in one or more sectors across multiple stages of the Project lifecycle. While nuclear experience is desirable it is not an absolute requirement. You can liaise with other teams and have multi-disciplinary knowledge. You have knowledge and proficiency with Primavera (P6) and other planning and resourcing software.
You also;
Will be able to obtain BPSS level security clearance.
Demonstrate understanding and use of Project Management and Planning techniques.
Have good verbal and written communication skills.
Have good research and analytical skills.
Have experience of working within a Project Planning team with the ability to inspire and lead by example.
Have experience managing stakeholders.
Have a desire to work within the nuclear sector.
