Job Description
AECOM is currently seeking a Transportation Engineering Intern for our team to be based in our Burnaby BC office.
This is a 4-month role expected to begin in September 2025.
The responsibilities of this position include but are not limited to:
- Help supports planning studies and reports for new and updated plans programs and regulations.
- Assists in the review of development proposals and site plans for conformance with codes plans and regulations.
- Prepares and presents detailed reports on development proposals to government bodies.
- Will learn how to collect a variety of statistical data and prepares reports and maps on topics such as census information land use transportation tax base data and occupancy rates.
- Assists in evaluating re-zonings ordinance amendments site plans special use permits variances and other proposals.
- Help coordinate community review of public and private development projects.
- Provides information to the public regarding development regulations.
- Assists in resolving citizen and customer issues.
- Under direct supervision conducts field evaluations and assessments.
Qualifications :
Minimum Requirements:
- Must currently be in a relevant Bachelors degree in Engineering Urban planning Sciences or Computer Science
- Must have completed 3 years of study
Preferred Qualifications:
- An interest in working in ITS
- Ability to work in a team environment
- Strong technical writing skills
- Good communication and time management skills
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft office software
- Passionate about transportation and urban planning
- A positive attitude and ability to work collaboratively with others
