Summary of the Position:
Tishman Speyer is seeking a strategic and experienced accounting leader to serve as the Head of US Property and Development Accounting. This role will be based in New York and will oversee all accounting functions for US-based real estate operations including financial reporting operational accounting and capital expenditure accounting.
The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in real estate accounting with deep knowledge across office residential and industrial asset classes and strong experience managing outsourced accounting teams. This role reports to the Chief Accounting Officer.
Key Responsibilities:
Leadership & Oversight
Lead the US Property Accounting and Development Accounting teams ensuring excellence in financial integrity controls and reporting.
Manage and oversee relationships with third-party service providers for outsourced accounting functions including negotiation of rates.
Act as a key liaison between the accounting teams and internal stakeholders such as asset management design & construction and executive leadership.
Financial Reporting & Compliance
Direct the preparation and review of accurate monthly quarterly and annual financial statements for a large and diverse real estate portfolio.
Ensure compliance with GAAP and internal accounting policies and controls.
Operational Accounting & Controls
Oversee all property-level accounting functions including revenue recognition lease accounting expense management and reconciliations.
Partner with property managers and asset managers to maintain accurate and timely reporting.
Design & Construction Accounting
Oversee capital expenditure tracking budget monitoring and reporting for construction and redevelopment projects.
Work closely with the Development team to ensure accurate job costing capitalization and timely processing of project expenditures.
Skills & Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in Accounting.
10 years of progressive experience in real estate accounting with strong exposure to office residential and industrial asset classes.
Prior experience overseeing outsourced/shared service accounting teams is required.
Expertise in GAAP accounting and financial reporting for property operations and construction.
Familiarity with Microsoft Dynamics D365 preferred
Strong leadership communication and interpersonal skills.

The base compensation range for this role is $225000 to $275000. This role is also eligible for a discretionary annual bonus as well as access to our comprehensive medical dental and vision insurance life and disability insurance 401(k) plan (with matching contributions) wellness benefits and all other benefits afforded to full-time Tishman Speyer base range reflects a number of factors including but not limited to relevant experience skill sets and/or licensure required of an individual in this particular role. The base range is also specific to members of Tishman Speyers New York team as weve considered factors specific to this geography.
