Metro State University a member of the Minnesota State Colleges and Universities System is seeking to hire a TREC Visiting Scholar and Community Engagement Fellow. This is a full-time fixed-term position within the College of Individualized Studies and will start on August 18 2025.

Participate in bi-weekly Teaching Circles with TREC colleague
2. Community Engagement
3. TREC/CIS/Metro Academic and Intellectual life
Salary Range:
$64066.00 - $186015.00
Salary is commensurate with education and experience and is determined by the salary placement process as outlined in the Inter Faculty Organization (IFO) Master Agreement.
Employment for this position is covered by the collective bargaining agreement for the Inter Faculty Organization (IFO) which can be found at on the Minnesota State Employee and Labor Relations website.

Description of College/School/Unit: The College of Individualized Studies delivers the universitys original student-deisgned bachelors program along with graduate degrees and student success courses. The college includes five resident faculty and a number of community faculty service approximately 600 students. Approximately 100 students are earning individualized degrees through our education-in-prison program TREC (Transformation and Reentry through Education and Community). Through the support of the Mellon Foundation the TREC department is sponsoring a visiting scholar position to teach in prisons with a focus on markets and communities and to serve as a community engagement fellow. The college offices are located on Metro States Daytons Bluff campus in Saint Paul and our courses are offered at correctional facilities in Stillwater and Faribault MN.
The School/Academic Department: The department of Individualized Interdisciplinary and Lifelong Learning offers students the opportunity to design their own undergraduate and graduate degrees. The department also offers first year experience and career development courses along with a graduate certificate in adult education.
