About this Job


Imperial Calcasieu Human Services Authority (ImCal HSA) exists so that citizens with mental health addictions and developmental challenges residing in the parishes of Allen Beauregard Calcasieu Cameron and Jefferson Davis are empowered and self-determination is valued such that individuals live a satisfying hopeful and contributing life.

Minimum Qualifications

Three years of experience in administrative services.

EXPERIENCE SUBSTITUTION:
Every 15 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as six months of experience.

Job Duties and Other Information

Job Duties:

Fee Assessment and Insurance Verification
Prepare and facilitate fee assessments for use in the billing process by obtaining the clients proof of income and proof of identity to include all pertinent financial information. Use Imperial Calcasieu Human Services Authoritys (lmCal HSA) fee schedule to calculate and inform clients of their discounted percentage. Conduct insurance verifications for all 5 behavioral health clinics. Make copies of all supporting documentation concerning income identification and insurance. Have client sign all documentation and forms as required by lmCal HSA policy and procedures. Enter all pertinent information into lmCal HSA electronic health record (EHR). Conduct fee assessment updates every 6 months and/or when clients income/insurance status changes. Document in EHR all updates made after initial interview to assure lmCal has current information on record.

File Room Management
Manage file room scan and upload documents in the Electronic Health Record process documents needed for closing records. Pull case records to be destroyed once approval is received. Process the incoming and outgoing mail. Process and sort clinic faxes. Process and package UA specimen for mailing. Process UA results by retrieving results scan upload and completing clinical note. Assist staff with file room equipment filing system and completing miscellaneous duties as assigned by supervisor. Process and verify the release of all medical records request accurately in accordance with HIPAA and 42 CFR confidentiality.

Backup Receptionist Operate as back up receptionist/operator.
Duties include greeting visitors and clients to the clinic checking them in through the scheduling system.
