The Role

We are seeking a self-motivated and driven Energy Analyst to join our team in Athens. The successful candidate will work closely with our Electricity Market Outlook (EMO) Modelling team to enhance our modelling and analytical capabilities. In parallel the role will involve contributing to high-profile consulting projects for international organizations national governments and private sector clients.

Key Responsibilities

In this role you will conduct quantitative research to support the development and operation of our energy modelling suite with a primary focus on the power sector and electricity markets. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Operating maintaining and enhancing the power sector and electricity market model as well as other related simulation tools.
  • Collecting organizing and analysing large datasets relevant to the power sector and electricity markets.
  • Producing high-quality reports briefing notes and presentations that communicate insights derived from model outputs and quantitative analysis.

Skills and Behaviours

  • Hold a BSc and/or MSc or PhD degree in engineering economics applied mathematics or physics or other relevant disciplines.
  • Deep knowledge of the fundamentals of electricity markets.
  • Demonstrated data management skills including the ability to use programming tools preferably GAMS or Python or R for modelling.
  • Experience in the electricity markets.
  • Have a detail-oriented and problem-solving mindset collaborative attitude and willingness to learn.
  • Be proficient in English (verbal and written).
